Review of 2020

NYC Living

The beginning of this year we welcomed sweet Madeleine into the world. Even though this year wasn’t ideal it was a perfect year to have her join our family. We were planning to travel the world in the summer and I had work trips planned, it was going to be a busy year. Once that all got canceled it was such a relief in a way but also a hardship in other ways. Here are some projects we have worked on to keep us going and that brought us joy.

Precious Baby Madeleine:

You can read more about Madeleine’s birth story HERE. It was so wonderful to slow down and enjoy snuggling her everyday. She brought so much joy and comfort during so much uncertainty. God knew we needed her to come to our family this year.

Hall bathroom makeover:

This peel and stick tile made such a difference! If you would like any links to this project you can get them HERE.

Vintage dresser make over:

We had a cheap dresser we bought online and it fell apart so quickly. We didn’t want to drop a lot of money on a new one so we searched for weeks until we found one we loved on FB market place and in our price range (I didn’t want to spend more than $150). We ended up spending $140.

Closet organization:

Nothing beats stress organization! Once I realized we were all going to be home I had to make each one of our 3 closets functional. It is so nice to know where everything is! It is like eye candy in our household to open a clean, organized closet, at least for Tay and I.

Secretary desk makeover:

This $25 secretary desk I found on FB marketplace has been used by every member of our family. I love the size of it to so we made this beat up desk into a functional beautiful desk. I talked more about it HERE.

10 year anniversary:

You can read more about our story HERE. This was a unique 10 year and I am so grateful for how we both have put the effort into making our marriage special.

Added wallpaper to the kid’s room:

Panic bought paint:

While the world was hoarding toilet paper we panic bought paint and supplies to DIY (I know smart call)! It was actually very therapeutic to have a project and take our stark white bathroom and add a punch of color into it.

Little City Girl Rm. Makeover:

This project I must say was my favorite of the year. I usually only do online clients and don’t get the chance to put my finally touch on the install and this was heaven to be able to help my friend/client install the wallpaper and style the room. (Details on this POST)

Entryway love:

Best Christmas present makeover (the doll house project):

This year was unique to everyone in one way or another and I want to thank you for following along our journey of city living and making our apartment functional, beautiful, and livable for our family of 5. Can’t wait to share what we have in store for next year! XO- Crystal
